Sharing knowledge about our collective pasts is a core tenant of archaeological (and broader academic) responsibility. Although conducting fieldwork and research and presenting those results to other scholars is expected and important, volunteering to organize and participate in civic engagement projects is critical. ABASI mentors and scholars strive to serve as role models by creating opportunities for younger scholars.
