Excavation Simulator for Infinity Charter School

In June 2024, ABASI helped design, support, and fund the construction of an outdoor excavation simulator for Infinity Charter School in Harrisburg, PA. Students now have the opportunity to excavate a multi-layered site while learning proper archaeological practices. By doing so, students not only learn about ways to connect with the past, but also ways to connect with how we can learn about the past. The simulator constitutes a unique opportunity for grade school-level engagement with archaeological methods and practices. The first excavations will take place during Academic Year 2024-2025.
