The Research Grant is designed to facilitate undergraduate student work with a research group or institution.
Students may work for museums, libraries, research institutes, or with individual scholars on a particular project. The grant seeks to offset costs (in whole or in part) associated with travel and accommodations (if required), application and membership fees, equipment use/rental, printing, and other costs resulting from the project.
Within four weeks of completing the research project, the awardee will submit all original receipts and paperwork for reimbursement, together with an essay. The essay will highlight what they learned from the experience, how it affected their growth as a scholar, the benefit of the ABASI grant to them personally and professionally, and their anticipated next steps with their research (e.g., presentation at a conference, publication, or additional study). This information will be shared with donors, and quotes from this essay may be featured on the awardee’s scholar profile.
The awardee will present the results of their research to ABASI board members, donors, and scholars via Zoom during the semester following the completion of their project.
The awardee may be invited to present their work at the annual ABASI conference and other events.
