The Presentation Grant facilitates student travel to present the results of their research or fieldwork.
Research and fieldwork need not be ABASI-funded for application for presentation funds. This grant seeks to offset the cost for presentations at professional conferences (in whole or in part), including travel, accommodation, meals, registration and membership costs, and incidentals related to presentation (i.e., printing).
Before attending the conference, symposium, or workshop, students will present a practice talk on Zoom before delivering their professional presentation. ABASI board members, donors, and scholars are invited to attend.
Within four weeks of attending and presenting at the conference, symposium, or workshop, the awardee will submit all original receipts and paperwork for reimbursement, together with an essay. The essay will highlight what they learned from the experience, how it affected their growth as a scholar, the benefit of the ABASI grant to them personally and professionally, and their anticipated next steps with the material they presented (e.g., additional study, publication). This information will be shared with donors, and quotes from the essay may be featured on the awardee’s scholar profile.
The awardee may be invited to present their work at the annual ABASI conference and other events.
